Idea brief for 10 October 2026
01The problem

CustomerYoung people in Switzerland Jobcannot pick the right insurance model and Franchise Causebecause the options are opaque and the window to switch is two months, Consequencewhich costs them hundreds of francs a year.

Format from Day 2: [Customer] cannot [job] because [cause], which costs them [consequence].
02Why now
Days left to cancel for 2027
0

The cancellation has to arrive at the insurer by 30 November. Most people only start looking when the new premium letter lands in October.

Average premium change 2027
+5.0%

The average monthly premium rises to CHF 412. Young adults 19 to 25 pay CHF 338.80 on average, up 4.8%. Insurers send the new premium letters by the end of October.

What changed in tech

AI agents can now read a scanned policy, compare every offer and fill in the forms.

Still, only about 8% of people switch each year, and 77% sit at the lowest or the highest Franchise.

"The transaction, once an act a person initiated, becomes an outcome a person inherits."FTSG 2026, p. 111
  • p. 116 People hand over tasks one rule at a time, for example "cancel the subscription if it renews above this price".
  • p. 117 The assistant gives a verdict instead of a list of links. Comparison sites become a row in someone else's spreadsheet.
  • p. 272 Autonomous Care asks for tools that compare cost and outcome across health options.
04The company today

Comparis gets paid when you sign with an insurer.

It earns from advertising and from insurers. Since 1 Sept 2024 insurers may only pay per signed contract, capped at CHF 70. Basic insurance brought Comparis about CHF 10.2 m in 2023, and finews expects that to roughly halve under the cap.

05The innovation

Four steps, about five minutes, done before the deadline.

  1. 01ScanPhoto of the policy. The agent reads insurer, model, Franchise and premium.
  2. 02AskFive plain questions about doctor visits and medication. No forms.
  3. 03SimulateFull year cost for every Franchise and model, premiums plus the bills you pay yourself.
  4. 04Switch and watchSends the cancellation and the new application, tracks the confirmation, and checks again next autumn under a rule you set.

07Who loses first

Comparison sites lose first. Their product is the list, and agents skip the list.

The entrant is already here. PrimAI (since 2024) scans your policy and writes the letters for free, and you still post them yourself. Our pitch is for Comparis: a copilot that sends the letters, tracks the confirmation and checks again every autumn under a rule you set, for example "switch me if I save more than CHF 300".

Survey and research

Writes and sends the survey, runs remote interviews, keeps the numbers and sources. Built this deck and the simulator.

Prototype

Turns the simulator into the real copilot: policy photo reading, real priminfo premiums, letter generation.

Teammate 3
Interviews and tests

Books and runs interviews in person, runs the 5 prototype tests, writes up quotes.

Model and pitch

Business model, numbers for slide 4 of the final, evidence slide, pitch rehearsal.

11For 10 October

Decide in the session

  1. Lock the idea and the problem sentence.
  2. Pick the segment. Many international students who do not work are exempt and use student plans from CHF 38 a month, so our best segment is Swiss students, working students and young workers up to 30.
  3. Agree roles and the 17 Oct survey date.
Draft persona (check against interviews)
Lena, 23

"My parents chose my Krankenkasse when I was 18. I never touched it."

Top job
Keep fixed costs low on a student budget
Top pain
Does not know if a higher Franchise is a risk or a saving
Top gain
One clear answer and a letter ready to sign
Trigger
The premium letter for next year in October
