What we store, and what we don't.
Who runs this
Krankenkasse Copilot is a student project at the University of Zurich (course Digital Business Innovation 2026, Group 7). Contact the team through the course. We are not an insurer or a broker and receive no commission.
Your check
Postcode, age group, your current insurance and your usage answers are kept in your browser tab (session storage). To calculate prices we send the postcode, age group, accident cover and an estimated cost figure to our server. We do not store them with anything that identifies you.
The letter
Your name, address, date of birth and insurance number are only used in your browser to build the letter, and saved in your browser (local storage) so you don't have to type them again. They are never sent to us.
Calendar and sharing
The calendar file is made in your browser. A share link contains only the rounded saving and your canton.
Anonymous counts
We record anonymous events, such as "reached the results" or "printed a letter", with a random session ID. This is how we measure whether the product works for our course evidence.
Reminder emails and survey
If you ask for a reminder, we store your email address, send one reminder before 30 November 2026, and delete it by 31 December 2026. Survey answers are anonymous and deleted after the course ends (February 2027).
AI agents
When an assistant uses our MCP server, it sends the same kind of inputs as the web check. Letter details sent by an agent are used to write the reply and not stored.
Where data lives
The app runs on Vercel (Frankfurt region) and the database on Neon (AWS Frankfurt).
